Friesland is a unique place with a rich culture, its own language and a strong sense of community: our mienskip<\/em>. FRLregistry B.V. brings this identity to the worldwide web, for the 81,000 companies and 650,000 residents of Friesland and for the more than 2 million Frisians living elsewhere who are proud of their origins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2015, .frl is there to offer them a safe, accessible and meaningful domain extension. A .frl domain is for Frisians, by Frisians.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

The launch<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In 2015, .frl was launched. With pioneers such as Piet Paulusma, Boomsma, Tryater and of course the Royal Association of the Frisian Eleven Cities Skating Tour, the Frisians were warmed up for the priority phase in which Frisian organizations and residents had the first right to their domain name. Supported by a camper bus that visited all events, television advertisements, a real .frl newspaper<\/a> and more, no Frisian could ignore \u201cThe Frisian way\u201d. Nearly 10,000 domains have been registered in this priority phase.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Now, .frl is available to everyone, including non-Frisians with a heart for Friesland. Yet 95% of the .frl domains are still registered by Frisians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Culture and tourism, SMEs and multinationals, self-employed persons and private individuals proudly benefit from the possibilities offered by their own domain extension. To show where their roots lie, because they can get their desired name in .frl or simply because they are Frisian with heart and soul.<\/p>\n\n\n
