Friesland has many entrepreneurs. They work hard and their Frisian, quirky character takes them far. And the pride for the province? It shines through. Take Jaske, for example: the mobile wardrobe for any event. Hylke Tholen (founder) and two other entrepreneurs, also close friends from Wergea, decided to take over the concept of Jaske.frl five years ago. They developed it further and became successful. Almost every weekend, all seven converted shipping containers can be found as mobile wardrobes at an event. Also outside the province. Do you want to know why Jaske.frl is so proud of its Frisian identity? We asked Hylke.

Hylke says: “The name ‘Jaske’ (‘coat’ in Frisian) was already attached to the concept. But we thought it was a nice nod to our own identity. The two friends with whom I took over the concept are also from Friesland, so we wanted to emphasise those Frisian roots. We are proud of where we come from, we want the whole of the Netherlands to know that. Also outside the province, people certainly know how to find us. Thanks to search engine optimisation, we appear at the top of search results. This allows us to do business throughout the country as well as proudly present our origins. That‘s win-win.”
